Airbrush on Aluminum Foil

Airbrush on Aluminum Foil
by Peter Loran
Peter has been airbrushing for about twenty years and is always pushing the envelope with new techniques, new surfaces to airbrush on. I’d like to thank Peter for allowing me to share one of his latest here with you in this article. Below are pictures of the some of his work airbrush on aluminum foil using Createx paint, as you can see it produced a very cool painting. At the bottom of this article is how Peter mounted the aluminum foil before airbrushing it.
I used createx over aluminum foil glued to masonite 16x 20 inches.
I like the candied look which is hard to photograph, but the colors are amazing when seen in person.
I still have to clear coat, sign the arwork and frame them.
To mount the aluminum foil to the board I used a dry mount adhesive.

peel and stick to the board

squeegee or roll it flat

then peel to expose the glue

next a sheet of heavy duty foil

put a sheet of paper between the roller and foil

There you have it ready to airbrush your design on.
