Thread: Spuddering while shading

When doing a shading line, my airbrush is spuddering giving uneven lines. I believe my air pressure is off, but I am not sure which way. The regulator guage reads 60psi (max) while idle and 42psi while spraying. I am also not sure of the accuracy of this guage. This is a used compressor I purchased.

Does it do that when you try and spray water?

Do you have a water trap on the compressor?

I do not have a water trap on my compressor. And, it only seems to do it when spraying dark colors. I have not noticed any issues when using lighter colors. But, it might still be there just not as noticable.
