Hi to all... I did read something about pulsating air but it doesnt seem to be the problem. Or I just dont have a clue. So, here goes:
I have air brushed before. I bought a badger vega 2000 and painted a mural in my daughters room. That was a few years ago. I put the airbrush away and never used it for a long time. Well I have some things I want to air brush again, and well I took my brush out and tried to use it again. Well first thing happened was using the siphon feed cup the paint started bubbling in the cup and wasnt coming thru the gun well... so I cleaned out the paint and tried to shoot water thru it, well... the water started pulsating... the air flows thru the brush perfectly fine, but when ever there is medium in either the siphon cup OR a bottle, the medium pulses... so I am not getting a steady feed ... any suggestions?
JB
Thanks in advance to all those that may read and/or reply!
I'm pretty sure that you have some left over paint in the nozzle and needle area from the last time you used your airbrush.
If you used water based paints, here's what you do.
Take the front of the airbrush completely apart and let the nozzle and tip of the airbrush soak in water and a little bit of Dawn dish soap over night.
Don't soak the whole airbrush, just the tip and nozzle.
If your airbrush has solvent proof seals this is what you do.
If you used urethane paints, soak it in lacquer thinner over night.
The following day, give the airbrush a good rinse with warm water and reassemble the airbrush and try it again.
This should solve your problem.
