I was looking around this site and this seems to be a good place to ask these beginning questions. I did look at other post to find the answer first but can't seem to find them. So....
1. What is the best size needle and tip to use for detail work. Still trying to get a fine line. I am using the compressor at 5-15 psi.
2. I am using the psi pretty low but I am still getting the spider blobs when I try to go close for fine lines.
I am using illustration airbrush paint on news print.
3. I will be doing a custom job on a road bike frame (eventually) so what kind of paint do you recommend for that, brand/type? Where would I find the steps to do this kind of a job?
Thank in advance for your help.
Amy
I think it's just the newsprint you're practicing on. I use newsprint also and it's just the nature of the beast. Also, it could be the paint and whether you're thinning it and to what degree. It will just take a bit more practice on your part. After I saw what you already do, you'll get it.
Just thought of something else on that spider blob thing. Pull the needle and see if it has a burr on it. Even a small one tends to blow the paint away from it. I've done it myself when I have the protector cap off and just touch the needle to something. Just an idea.
Thank you so much. I need to figure out the thinning of the paint and I will check out the needle. I actually bought some auto paint today and the mail box is in the site.
