    Question Pencil

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if I can use a regular # 2 Graphite pencil to draw pictures and then airbrucsh with acrylic's over them. I thought I read somewhere that graphite might not cover with water-based paint. If that's true, what is the best drawing pencil to use. As always, thanks to everyone who helps me out of the situations.

    Hi Paul

"Less is more" something you'll here a lot relating to airbrushing, the less paint you use the better off you will be. Putting yourself in a position of having to cover up pencil lines probably not a good idea. try using a blue (light blue) pencil for your line drawings and or use very thin design lines.

If you are using a pencil to lay your design out I take it your masking your design out also?? If so after you cut away a masked area ease the pencil lines within that area before applying your color.

A lot of whats involved in airbrushing should be sort of trail an error as what works best for me might not suite your style of airbrushing. Learn the basics than work on creating your own style, put your own twists on well know techniques.

    hope that helps

It's me again, Don. I found the link to "Pencil" I'm sorry I don't know more about the computer, but I'm lucky I go out with my head attached. Thanks again for your patience.

    no worries

try experimenting with different pencils and see how it goes, see if your style of painting will cover the lines

just keep the lines as faith as possible
