Default How do you make your own stencils

I read this How To Airbrush - Airbrush Stencil making your own how-to article. it was help fun but. For making your own skulls and things a little more detailed then letter's not so helpful. I know it looks simple in tell you try it. i have trouble thinking about what to cut out of the image or cut a way. I got lot of cool image's i love make stencils but hurts my brain when come up with a way to do it. Like this one .jpg. I know the last one would be hard i like shell for it so add the detail to it free handed.

For a stencil to work properly (stay in one piece) all of the white (where paint can't get through) must be attatched to the outside of the image. For example, in your skull image, the stars on the bandana would not be attached to the rest of the stencil when it is cut out (it is surrounded by black, where paint goes through the stencil). To remedy this, open the image in you editing program (Paint works fine) and use the brush tool to draw in white to connect all of the white areas of the stencil. Try to work in the added lines to the image so they add to the effect, instead of just drawing strait lines.
    Hope this helps,
    Bryce

When I make my own stencils, I use thin overhead projector transparent sheets, that are 8 1\2 x 11.
I cut them out with a stencil burner that I bought at Walmart.
They are very easy to use.

The negative of the stencil is the the white.
The positive is the black, like the eyes of the skull.
That last picture would be kind of hard to make a stencil out of.
You would be better off using frisket or something like that.
You would have to draw out the artwork and then cut out the basic shape with an exact-o knife.

I'm not exactly sure if this is what your looking for, but I hope it helps you somewhat.

    JvwPainter,

Stencils are hard to do. It seems you want to tattoos, from what you've said before. If that's what you want to do, consider purchasing them. They will last for quite a while if you take care of them. They aren't cheap, but they have the detail I think you're looking for.
