In all honesty it's most likely the compressor won't generate enough PSI to use for an airbrush
you need to look into getting a bigger compressor would be my best guess

its a 10 gal aircompressor its brand new craftsman. it works like a charm. do i need to thin it down or keep it like it comes out of the bottle.
sorry about that i read your post wrong
pearl and flake type paints are hard to spray thru an airbrush and require the largest need, nozzle size you have plus kicking your airbrush pressure up a bit

i have a .5 tip. and i use 40psi
turn the pressure up and see if that helps
