Default How do I get paint through??!!

Hi I've purchased a Master Airbrush Brand - Model G34 Precision Dual-Action Gravity Feed Airbrush from Ebay. Unfortunately I can't get any paint through at all. The people I bought it from aren't being very help except to suggest that I ring them .... they're in San Diego ... I'm in the UK!!! So I'm hoping you kind people might be able to help.

The leaflet that came with the airbrush is not a lot of help at all and so I don't really know where to start finding the problem. Can you give me a Step by Step list of things to try (in simple English!) that I could work through please?

Air is coming out of the noozle. The needle moves out of sight when I move the trigger backwards. I can get 'paint' (I'm only trying water at the mo) through if I seal over the top of the little cup thing with my thumb!

    Help! Thanks

    Flo,

Hi Flo. I use Master airbrushes also. Since Don is asking you you some questions, I'll defer to his experience. Since you're a member here, you probably know this is the guy. I'm in the U.S. and have gotten great customer service from the dealer you probably purchased it from. I realize the phone call would be expensive.

I have a thought what you might try, but will wait for Don's comment.

    Don,

I was trying to find the video you had on taking apart and putting back together your airbrush. That was great video, because the Iwata sample shows her how to do it. Of course, the Master is all but a copy of the Iwata in many internal features. It would show her how to do it, so she won't be concerned about the chucking nut and needle. Can you direct me and/or Flo to it?

    Flo,

I think if you loosen the chucking nut and while pushing on the air button, with cleaning fluid in the cup, move the needle back and forth, like you would do when cleaning it. I bet it will start to spray. Some times when I go to use my Master G-22 airbrush (I don't think it's just Master's problem), it did not spray too well at first, even though I cleaned it before I put it away. I have gotten into the habit of leaving the chucking nut loose and the needle not quite seated for storing. Now I always run a little cleaner through it, then re-seat the needle and tighten the chucking nut, just before I start to paint. I no longer have that start up situation.

Flo, Hope I haven't confused you. I really believe it's something minor like that. Once you watch the video, I hope Don finds it for us, you will see there isn't too much to these things.

    Don,

Thanks. I looked every place but there I guess. These are great videos. I forgot you did the one on the Master G-44. It's just like hers. After I watched that one on Iwata, the scary part of doing it, was gone. This what Flo needs. I'll put the bookmark in for her.

    Flo,

I hope you get back to this soon. Don did a video on the Master G-44. It's the same, other than model number, as you have. Watch this video. I think to cure your problem, is to loosen the chucking nut and move the needle by hand as I've mentioned in my other reply. Hope this helps out. I (We) would like to know how you make out with this problem. We all know you are anxious to start and hate to see you having this problem. The first one on the page is the one to watch.

If this doesn't work, as I mentioned, I received great customer support on one of my S-62 airbrushes that I received. They immediately sent me one out after we discussed the problem. Did not even have to return the bad one and I will be able to use it for parts in the future.

Wow! What amazingly speedy replies! Thanks

My compressor is an ABD TC-21 Battery Powered Mini Air Compressor.

I had a look at the video and have waggled the needle in and out and it doesn't seem to help I'm only using water ... do you think that I should try with something 'real'? Would that make a difference?

    Thanks for all your help.
