    Default finally took the plunge

I bought an Iwata Eclipse and I am going to learn how to use it. I would like to get into doing automotive work. Right now I am a face and body painter also henna and other body art. Time to move on to cars, bikes and such.

So I have a bunch of newbie questions, but I don't want to ask the vets the same old questions I am sure they are tired of them. You know what paint for bicycle frames, how do I get a small fine line, what psi do I use so I can get said line with out making a blob or paint blowing every where. Is there a good book that I can get to help me get started? I have watched most of the videos here and I love this site.

    Welcome Amy

You've definitely come to the right place to learn to airbrush.
Which Eclipse model airbrush did you buy from Iwata ?

My advice to you, if you really wan't to learn to do fine lines and such, you must master the doing Dots and of course the famous Dagger-Stroke !
Then and only then will you be able to do fine lines with ease

As far as what paint to use on a bicycle frame, you have a bunch of choices. There is automotive urethane paints like House of Colors, Dupont... If you'd rather use a water based paint, you got Auto Air, Wicked Colors and the list goes on and on...

Like I mentioned, master the doing Dots and Daggers, no matter how boring it get's. I promise you, it will all come together from there on

Everything you need to know about airbrushing, you can find it all here.
    Don's got it all covered.

One last thing, don't ever be afraid to ask questions, no matter how stupid you think they sound.
    Were here to help

    Amy,

Gio just said it all. It's like the old question; "How do you get to Carnegie Hall?"
Practice, Practice Practice. That's an old line, but so am I.
The good old dots, line and dagger strokes. As far as the questions, ask away, we love to know
we weren't the only ones that didn't know that! Gio loves those questions on bikes.
