    Default hair or fur template

    Mark e-mail this to me:

The material list is very short. One 12” piece of stranded wire, which is found in the wiring section at the hardware store. Start with either 14 gauge or 16 gauge stranded copper wire. (the more strands the better). Strip off about 1 and ˝ or two inches of the plastic coating on one end of the wire. Spread out the strands and you are basically done. If you want a stiffer handle on the other end of the wire, tape the unstripped wire to a wooden dowel or something of that nature. Hopefully with these instructions and a picture of the finished “template” the users should be good to go.

    Thanks a bunch Don.

Mark's bio: I am just another “newbie or wanta be” airbrush person. My true goal is to restore my 70’ Z-28 back to the way it was the 1st time I restored and painted it back in 1976 (I was about 23 or 24 years old ). At that time there was not any damage/dents/rust that I had to deal with. I had an old airbrush at the time and really didn’t know how to use it. I think it was a badger airbrush. I’m older now and I am learning what I should have learn back then. I’m amazed at the things that can be done with the airbrushes, and I find it really neat and fun to learn the things that came be done with an airbrush. I probably will not reach up to the caliber of an artist/airbrush artist like yourself.
Anyway about six months ago I jumped in with both feet into airbrushing and bought a bunch of Badger airbrushes again not knowing what I should have learned before buying a bunch of stuff.
I’m not looking to paint anything “head-turning dramatic“ like you could do. I will be happy to paint it like it was painted it back in the mid 70’s. Nothing fancy really. However, I’m sitting on the fence about the flames.I’m thinking should I go back to the “traditional” hotrod flames or the newer “truer” flame look. Right now I think it I would like to combine the two styles and paint the flames in that 3rd dimensional look.
A little history is in this car now that I have owned so long. I do like drag racing (actually all types of racing). But really it’s just another Camaro except that I have owned this car since 1974 or 75. I gave this car to my son for his 16th birthday. That was a mistake, and it is one that I’ll never repeat again.
It’s getting late over here in California and I’m sure you are too. Therefore, I end this email and say thank you for helping me with that “new” template and getting it posted on your website.
    Have a good one,

    Mark
