Question Mixing enamel paints - model master or testors

I need some guidance on how to thin enamels effectively. I have been using regular paint thinner to thin Model Master/Testor paints. I have tried the water based paints and for my application (vintage race cars) they just do not have the gloss that I require. Is there a "best way" to thin? Does the amount of thinner vary with different colors & primers? Do you need to thin clear coats? Thanks!

    HI Paul
just use the thinner that comes with the enamels and do some tests keeping track of how much you reduce it and how it worked until you hit upon the best reduction for you

there is no set rule that applies as it sort of differs with the type of airbrush you are using

I will be using a Passche double action while spraying enamels. Another question (I should wait until the brush arrives) - what pressure should I be using for enamels? I have a tank compressor with a regulator and air pressure adjustment? Thanks for your help!!!

try reducing it 20% first see how it goes you might have to adjust that

pressure start at 25 psi again you might have to go higher

do some test panels with both PSI and enamel reduction see what works best for you
