No, I put it on as soon as I opened the box. It did come with one of those darn barbed type fittings, like all my Master airbrushes did. Not sure why they waste their time by putting them in the box.

I sure wouldn't want to use one with a "push on" hose; Would you? I assume there is, or was a reason for the barb type, but I doubt it's used much any longer. As a consumer, I think they should put one of the "male" fittings, when selling them new and forget that barb fitting and nut. I think the quick disconnects are all the same size (I've purchased from two different sources) and all the male and female fittings interchange. I guess that makes too much sense!
