    Default Grex Airbrushes

I just started using my two new Grex airbrushes. I am now the owner of the XG a .3mm gravity feed and a XB a .3mm Bottom feed airbrushes. I started out with a Master Series G-22 which came in a kit I purchased from TCP Global. It got me started and I also purchased two Master S-62 bottom feeds. I has several size tips for both models of the Masters. I have really done well with both Masters, but decided I'd like to upgrade my airbrushes. I also considered Iwata which many airheads use, but because I knew about other Grex pneumatic tools quality, I decided I'd try them. I also got a much better deal from a Grex Dealer in my area, than I could from the bigger name airbrush vendors. They both cost me less than $182.00. That was $40.00 less for each one. I was also able to get past sales tax, because of my business and that is why I got both of them at the same time.

NOTE: I think the Master airbrushes I have and use are very good for the price and you should consider them to get going. They will do a good job for you. It was just my time to upgrade and get a better one. So, I'm really only comparing the Masters (which are good) to the new Grex ones. It's like a car. The Chevy will get you where you want to go and be nice car. The Cadillac gets you there too but you pay for that better ride.

I can say that the Grex uses less air pressure to operate than did my Masters. I was surprised that my new bottom feed Grex (XB) would get the paint out of the jar at as little as 15 psi. That is using Createx paint with just a few drops of glycerin to help prevent tip dry. I would use as much as 40 psi to draw paint from my Master S-62 bottom feeds. I've also had to adjust how much I pull back to get paint. The Grex gives me more paint with less pull. That's not a problem, I just will have to learn to adjust my finger pull. The Grex has a better jar connection than the Master. I don't have to use much force to connect the jar to the airbrush. The trigger action is very smooth, but of course it's brand new. I would say the action is a little better than the Master, but I expected that. I didn't really have any issues with the Master, I just had nothing to compare it to before this.

The Grex XG was basically the same. Feels good in the hand, smooth action, uses less air pressure. It also gives me more paint with a short pull. I'll get used to that.

The Grex is a very very nice airbrush. I'm pleased with my purchase.

So if any one is browsing around wondering about airbrushes, that's my take on two brands at this time.

    Gahau,

Here they are. They are as nice as advertised. My pictures are okay, but not the best. I did a quick shirt for one of the grand daughters. The trigger action for paint is QUICK! I have to concentrate on pulling back or I get a wide pattern fast. Has a nice feel to it. The purchase was well worth it.

    Gahau,

No I don't have the quick flush on either of these. They have in the new XBi model. I would guess they will do something in the future for other models,

I meant quick disconnect, not the quick release for the needle.
The adaptor that quick connects to the air hose

    Gahau,

No, I put it on as soon as I opened the box. It did come with one of those darn barbed type fittings, like all my Master airbrushes did. Not sure why they waste their time by putting them in the box. I sure wouldn't want to use one with a "push on" hose; Would you? I assume there is, or was a reason for the barb type, but I doubt it's used much any longer. As a consumer, I think they should put one of the "male" fittings, when selling them new and forget that barb fitting and nut. I think the quick disconnects are all the same size (I've purchased from two different sources) and all the male and female fittings interchange. I guess that makes too much sense!
