same problem i have finding slot stuff, not around here, got to on-line everything hard to see colors on a screen
I too cannot find this magical golden airbrush paint and I have gone out of may to look, all of the golden dealers that I got from thier website carried plenty of golden paint, just not airbrush paint. Even had an old man from a mom and pop kinda store say I could take the acrylic and reduce it,but I said no, I want the magical out of the bottle stuff.......maybe its a midwest thing

Bigsby and scrjon,
It's not new and is carried by Dick Blick. I realize if you're just buying the paint, you have to deal with the shipping. I assure you it will be worth it. I've attached the link below.

PAINT ON!

well drove all around St.Louis looking for golden airbrush paint and like it or not im stuck with createx or buy on-line, how the heck can you pick a color when they dont show you a color so I got me 4 more bottles of createx and decided to just make it work or else
scrjon,
You'll just have to get that thinning down to a science. If you ever get a chance, Golden would be great, but understand you need to use what you have.

4 parts thinner to 1 part paint...holy thin paint, that will still stick?
hairy,
Where did you get that formula. It would probably stick, you just would have a hard time seeing it!!
Createx is a good all around paint, once you get used to using it. You shouldn't have to thin it that much. If you do, something is really wrong with the airbrush.

is it better to reduce the paint right b4 you use it, or to reduce it ahead of time?
what kind of paint are you using?

I'm a newbie learning how to airbrush. I use the Createx paints as well, and I too have difficulties using that brand of paints. It does seem too thick to use out of the bottle. I'm using Badger airbrushes, but that's a different story so I won't go into it on this thread. Createx paint is water based and it seems to make sense to use just plain water as a thinner/reducer for that type of paint. I'll try using the suggested mix ratio of 4:1, 4 parts water to 1 part of paint. I am interested in other brands of paint to use as I learn to use my airbrushes. The ultimate goal I am trying to achieve is to paint designs on a car I am restoring. I would be interested to hear the advise from the members of this forum.
