    Default createx paint

hi noob here, got some createx black paint to do my lessons with and it works ok most of the time but when i am really tring to make a thin line after a few lines i really have to shoot a lot of pressure to get paint flowing again, it says ready to paint but gives you a thinning option should i thin it or trash it, the only other option for me is search the web for other paint where i live i can only find createx

    Noob, I mean Jon

Thin it with water and play with the ratios and adjust your pressure accordingly.
Try to get it to a skim milk consistency.
    Experiment with it...

    Jon,

Mix the paint directly in the paint reservoir of the airbrush.
Use a medicine dropper to release the water in the paint reservoir.
Ad a few drops, and stir it with a Q-tip, but remove the cotton attached first.
Stir it and then put the cap back on and spray away. The paint should be basically the consistency of 2% or skim milk. Experiment with the air pressure and see what works best. If the paint is still to thick, ad a few more drops of water.
For added measure, you can also ad a drop or 2 of glycerin in the mix to help with tip dry.
That's how I do it when I use Createx paint. I always get good results.
Good luck and don't forget to play with the air pressure as you thin the paint more.

I am not sure if it is like witch hazel, does not smell like it, but I just got some recently at the local cvs. Look in the cosmetic section or ask, I tried on my own and spotted some when I was getting isopropal alcohal but only could find glycerin in laxitave form and the only liquid(most was powder) I found was in suppository applicators, then I asked the pharmecist who took me to the ladies cosmetics and found the good stuff.

    Jon,

Here's a home brew that I found on another airbrushing forum.
It works with Auto Air & Createx paint.

    Formula:
    1.5 oz Isopropyl alcohol
    5 oz water
1.5 to 2 drops of Glycerin

Mix it up in an 8oz squeeze bottle.
Mark it with a sharpie for the ratios.

Sprays like heaven when mixed 4:1 (4 parts solution to 1 part paint)

Liquid Glycerin can be found at most pharmacies.

    scrjon,

Just get some Golden paint (Black) to practice with. Just less hassle than thinning out, just to practice. I know it says airbrush ready, but Createx usually needs thinning, Golden doesn't. Don mentions this in lesson one. You'll have plenty of time to mess with paint after you practice. I use both Golden, to practice and Createx to do shirts. I use a bottom feed at 40 psi and can spray Createx on shirts. TRUE! I'm not painting fine lines. You need to thin it and use less pressure, but shirts, no problem.

    scrjon,

Well you'll just have to work on that formula for Createx then. I know what you mean about that pesky shipping charge. Makes things like that twice the price.
