    Default Any Advice would help

Sorry if this goes a little long.

I currently have a job painting fishing luresRod Bender's Tackle, Inc.. To most of you these probably look like super simple designs, except we are using a poly sil paint. It is extremely toxic, thick, and hard to use. I have to spray the stuff at 60-100PSI through a single action gun. I don't dare use it in a double action. I was forced to once, and within a week, the gun didn't work anymore.

I would like to find a way to switch to waterbased paints exclusively, but I'm a little unclear as to what bases should be used. Most of the baits get a powder base coat. Will the waterbased work on those ok? If I wanted to skip the powder coat on some, what should I use in it's place? It would need to be clear.

I also could really use some advice on top coats. I have no idea what kind of top coat will give the durability I need and be compatible with the waterbased paints.

I would love to hear what you guys/gals think

    Thanks,

    Lynette

I probably should add that the baits are brass and lead, but usually plated in nickel or gold before they get painted.

you should be able to just scuff the podwer coat and paint them than use a good 2 part clear like house of kolor kustom klear House of Kolor Products - Urethane & Polyurethane

I don't use waterbase paint on hard surfaces so I can't help you there but if you contact Createx tech support I'm sure they could help you
