This is an overview of the techniques and process of kustom painting Harley tins.
I first measure and lay down a center line, I will use this to measure so both side are the same. Never assume that the bike part you are working on is the same on both sides. Say if you measure from the bottom rime of the guard and lay in the graphic you are properly going to fine that when you look straight down the two side don’t line up
Here I have laid on the tribal that we designed and cut on the plotter.
I then airbrush a light drop shadow under the tribal, be careful not to go to heavy with the shadow color.
After the drop shadow is done I back mask the tin ware.
I then lay in the black base coat.
After taking all the mask off and checking for any blow thoughts its ready to clear.
And there you have it, a very simple job and it is not as full on as we are use to, but it is a rather effective design. The whole process is not complicated but make sure you measure everything twice and make sure all the mask is laying flat. Hope that you got something out of this
got to run and put some clear on this job
Cheers Todd
