PAASCHE
VL
For airbrushing T Shirts, textile a bottom feed or
siphon feed airbrush is your best bet. The Paasche VL has for mony years been
the work horse of the airbrushing T Shirt industry. Please be sure when
purchasing an airbrush to stick with the name brand companies such as Iwata,
Badger or Paasche. These companies make quality airbrush's and parts are very
easy to come by just about any where. Why buy a knock off airbrush that uses
Iwata parts as the Iwata parts will not make up for the lack of quality in the
rest of the airbrush. Stay with the name brand companies and save yourself some
hassle, time and money.

All three of these are water based paints and must be
heat set once the artwork is completed on the shirt to hold up to washing.
CREATEX
AQUA FLOW
Ready Tex by DR P H Martin
If your using Createx Textile paint follow this
directions: SURFACE PREPARATION Fabric- Including 100% cotton, 50/50
blends, denim, sweatshirts, and most natural fibers. 1) For best
results, wash item first to remove sizing and mill finishes. 2)
Airbrush the design onto fabric avoiding thick buildup of paint and excessive
paint layering. 3) Allow colors to dry, or a heat gun may be used to
accelerate drying time. Drying time varies depending on application.
4) Heatset fabric for permanence by one of the following methods: a)
Iron for 2 minutes at 300º F use a protective cloth, keep iron moving. b)
Turn item inside out and put in clothes dryer for 40 minutes at highest heat.
Airbrushing/Spraying For best results, blend GOLDEN Fluid
Acrylics with GOLDEN Airbrush Medium. Start with a 1:1 mixing ratio, and
increase amount of GOLDEN Airbrush Medium as desired to increase sprayability
and/or transparency. When artwork is complete, spray a thin coat of GAC 900 for
least color loss. GAC 900 can be added to the system if a softer hand is
desired (follow heat-set directions below). For durability and washability in a
spray application, this is the recommended system, and will perform
significantly better than GOLDEN Airbrush Colors alone. GOLDEN Fluids blended
with GOLDEN Airbrush Medium do not require heat-setting for launderability, yet
equal the performance of fabric paints that do. Using GOLDEN Fluids generates a
saving of time, energy, and money. Allow for garments to cure for at least 4
days prior to washing (Note: heat-setting will speed the curing time required
and may increase the launderability). When using water with the Airbrush
Medium, a 1:1 ratio of water to Airbrush Medium is the maximum amount of water
recommended. GOLDEN Fluid Acrylics blended with GOLDEN Airbrush
Medium yields a paint system that is very durable in normal laundering, and
that does not require heat-setting (however, ironing will increase
performance). This line is very popular among some t shirt artist. Again they
can be reduced with distill water. When using water with the Airbrush Medium, a
1:1 ratio of water to Airbrush Medium is the maximum amount of water
recommended.
Although not recommended for fabric use, GOLDEN Airbrush
Colors may be blended 1:1 or more with the GAC 900 to aid in washfastness
(properly heat-set according to directions listed below). This blend, although
better than GOLDEN Airbrush Colors alone, is still not equal to the
launderability performance of the Fluid Acrylics/Airbrush Medium
mixture.
